I bought this Sew-ette toy sewing many years ago. I fell in love with it then, and still love it. When I bought it, it wouldn't sew, so I had to figure out how to time a chain stitch machine. Once I got that worked out, it made a really nice stitch.
You can sew on it with electric, using the tiny foot pedal, or turn the hand crank on it. Unlike some of the toy sewing machines, it takes a modern 15x1 needle.
If you will notice on the silver edge of the faceplate, you see a little red window. When you crank the machine, it has a friction device that makes the red window light up, so neat! This is not a real old machine, more of a modern day one, but it pleases me.
